- This zine is part of a series where I write about the underlying themes surrounding gender and sexuality in movies that I grew up with. In this issue, about the movie Cadet Kelly, I write about the metaphor of suppressing a queer identity in order to conform, the parallels to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and the tension between the two main characters. The zine contains images from the movie, my own writing, and digital drawings.
