This collection is an unflinching walk through illness, survival, and the strange clarity that comes when the body is repeatedly broken and still insists on living. in this broken light (my body has more scars than skin) gathers autobiographical poems shaped by serious illnesses and surgeries, including months rendered muted after surgeons drilled holes in the head and partially removed a jawbone. What emerges is darkness paired with resilience of spirit, written while lying on their back staring at the ceiling, attempting to make sense of it all and laughing.
